Sully Road Community Church Center – Intersection of Route 66 and 29, Herndon, Va.
- One of the most notable jobs on the I-66 project was the demolition of a 3-story community center. Prior to the demolition of this project, DemoUSA, Inc. removed over 16,000 sq. ft. of asbestos vinyl tile, AMC mastic tape, and hundreds of feet of AMC window glazing. Furthermore, DemoUSA, Inc. collected and disposed of over 480 fluorescent bulbs, 114-each PCB capacitors, and 10 thermostats – all which was deemed a universal waste and handled, transported, and disposed of in accordance with all USEPA, VADEQ, and USDOT regulations. DemoUSA, Inc. excavated an UST (underground storage tank). This tank had remaining fluid in it – hydrocarbon which utilizing DemoUSA, Inc.’s vacuum tanker wagon sucked out the remaining liquid, extracted the tank itself, and disposed of it. DemoUSA, Inc. then conducted the composite post-excavation sampling, to ensure that the remaining was not contaminated – which it was not. The demolition of this structure generated over 1800 lbs. Of CMU, 90,000 lbs. Of brick, 180,000 lbs. Of CMD, and 44,000 lbs. Of crushed concrete. Additional information is available upon request.
